Chapter Update
Praise the Lord for our 3 Summer Missionaries that served along with Miss Pat & Claudia Ruoff ( Committee Member). Praise for the 175 children reached in our six 5-Day Clubs this past summer!! Praise for Madeleine McGowen, 15, Crofton, Kaylee Tate, 15, Laurel & Michel Byrd, 15, Ellicott City! They did a great job, ministering to the children in our 5-Day Clubs!! In spite of the record heat & health challenges, many children heard the Gospel this summer & 3 teens were trained to serve Jesus!
Our fall Good News Club Program began with our our Tayac Elementary School Good News Club starting up again, with 50 children attending the “Pop Back into GNC”, with a popcorn party! The club is taught by Diana Ryans & Denise Blakey. They now have 76 children on roll!
Our Glenn Dale Good News Club started on October 18th, with 36 children attending. The club is taught by Ephranie Chapman, Sandra Thompson & Jenny White. They now have 45 children attending, with 70 registered.
The Calverton Good News Club begins on November 17th. It is led by Courtney Hayes, a Teacher at the school & Committee member, and Sheila Piccone. Last year their attendance rose to 75, & they had to split the club into two clubs.
Our Greenbelt Good News Club met last spring with 42 children & will begin again in the Spring. It is taught by Claudia Ruoff & Daniel Gomez (local Committee members). Many people from Greenbelt Baptist, volunteer at this club.
On January 5, 2024, Pat will be retiring after 43 years of ministry with Child Evangelism Fellowship! It has been a great joy & honor to serve with CEF, seeing so many children reached for Christ, through the GNC’s & 5-Day Clubs, and seeing over 200 teens trained, in our local area, to teach in the summer 5-Day Clubs. Most of our trained teens have gone on to serve in their local Churches, & in full time ministries.
